Thursday, August 29, 2024 Air Arabia, the premier low-cost carrier of the Middle East and North Africa, today launched its inaugural flight from Sharjah International Airport to Athens International Airport. This new service operates four times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The launch was celebrated with a ceremonial departure in Sharjah and a warm reception upon arrival in Athens, attended by Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, His Excellency Antonis Alexandridis, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the UAE, alongside senior management and distinguished guests.

Adel Al Ali stated, “With Athens joining Milan and Krakow on our EU route map from Sharjah, this addition widens travel options for our customers in the UAE and beyond. This route underscores our dedication to enhancing connectivity with affordable, quality service, allowing travelers to discover the rich cultural tapestry of Greece.” Air Arabia boasts a fleet of 74 state-of-the-art Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, known for being the most advanced single-aisle aircraft globally.

The airline enhances passenger experience with value-added services such as ‘SkyTime’, a complimentary in-flight streaming service, ‘SkyCafe’, an economical in-flight meal service, and ‘Air Rewards’, a comprehensive and generous loyalty program allowing passengers to earn, transfer, and redeem points. Bookings for flights between these two cities are now available through Air Ara.
