1 2 Prayagraj : After continuous rise in Ganga and Yamuna for the past three days, locals and the district administration breathed a sigh of relief by Monday evening after water level of Yamuna at Naini become stable, and the Ganga at Phaphamau and Chhatnag started receding slowly. The level of Ganga at Phaphamau had crossed the 84m mark on Monday morning and was flowing at 84.07m, whereas the danger level is at 84.

The Ganga at Chhatnag receded by 1cm and was flowing at 83.40m. Likewise, the level of Yamuna (at Naini) was at 83.

This year, the impact of the flood is more in localities situated on the banks of Ganga at Phaphamau. One company of NDRF , two of SDRF, the PAC flood relief team, and one company of water police have been deployed. Water has inundated more than two dozen localities of the city.

More than 60 steamers, motorboats, and 800 boats have been deployed. Localities like Baghada, Ganga Nagar, Nevada, Chilla, Myorabad, Beli village, Ashok Nagar, Rajapur, Sadiabad, Kakraha Ghat, Shankarghat, Karailabagh, Sadiapur, and Daraganj near Nagvasuki have been marooned. The administration has pressed six boats for transportation in Badra Sonaunti of Phulpur tehsil, one in Bhagesar Delhi of Karchana, three in Daraganj of Sadar tehsil,.
