Lucknow: Two men attacked a shop owner ’s son in Hussainganj area during a brawl, biting him and tearing off his flesh after failing to loot the fair price shop, police said on Thursday. Initially, onlookers mistook the incident for a robbery, and a crowd gathered at the scene. Sensing trouble, the miscreants fled.

According to information, Lakshmi Devi Sahu runs the shop where her son Shekhar Sahu and daughter Rita Sahu work as assistants. The work of distributing ration was going on Sunday evening around 5:30pm when the accused Imran and Mojjam, both of Hata Khwaja Gauhar Hussainganj, arrived at the shop and attempted to loot it, causing chaos among the people present. When the miscreants failed to obtain money, they attacked Shekhar, beating him severely and threatening to kill him if he did not comply with their demands.

“During the assault, they bit Shekhar's chest and tore off a piece of flesh. The crowd present at the shop intervened, sensing danger, and the accused fled the scene,” Shekhar said. After this, the victim lodged a police complaint.
