Tuesday, December 24, 2024 For the fourth year in a row, AEGEAN Airlines, alongside Olympic Air, spread the magic of Christmas through its volunteer initiative, “AEGEAN Santa Crew.” The program brought smiles, gifts, and heartfelt support to students on the remote islands of Karpathos, Kasos, Ikaria, Skyros, and Kastellorizo, while also aiding vulnerable families in Athens. On December 19, 2024, AEGEAN and Olympic Air volunteers embarked on an early-morning journey with three dedicated aircraft to reach schools on the remote islands.
The mission was simple: to bring joy, gifts, and much-needed resources to students and educators. The team, made up of employees and crews, distributed presents, educational materials, heating oil, and STEM kits, ensuring the schools received both festive cheer and practical support. Pilots and cabin crew from Olympic Air also took the opportunity to inspire the students.
They shared insights about their careers in aviation, answered curious questions, and invited the children aboard the aircraft to experience the wonders of air travel firsthand. Earlier in the same week, members of the “AEGEAN Santa Crew” turned their attention to Athens, visiting the Reception and Solidarity Center of the Municipality of Athens (K.Y.
A.D.A.
) and the Multi-purpose Homeless Center. They provided Christmas treats to 300 underprivileged families and 200 homeless individuals, creating moments of connection and celebration for those facing difficult circumstan.
