A luxury breakfast takeaway is being forced to close temporarily due to a nightmare road closure causing traffic jams at peak times. Gridl, on Treloggan Road in , says it's tried to combat problems "with no avail". The posh breakfast spot, which operates from the Booker store's car park, specialises in takeaway breakfasts and leisurely brunches.

It's garnered a loyal following of nearly 10,000 fans due to its big portions and inventive dishes. But despite its popularity, owner Danny Cheeseman says he's unable to keep running it for the time being due to a road closure nearby. , said it's causing traffic jams and preventing customers from getting to Gridl.

He said: "It's with a heavy heart that I tell you that GRIDL will be closed until January. I expected the winter months to be quieter, but due to the road closure at Trevemper, and subsequent traffic jams during my peak periods, I am unable to keep running GRIDL at a loss. I have tried and tried to combat it with no avail.

"GRIDL is my life. I have worked and lived like a crazy person for the last year just to make it work and aim for some stability so you can imagine, this was something that I really didn't want to write. I hate having to close and I have no idea what I am going to do but if I want GRIDL to succeed long term, I need to press pause while I still have the option to do so.

"I will be keeping the lease going while GRIDL is closed so my spot stays active, so it will be straight back to normal service in January .
