Emmanuel Ande Grassroot Life Saving Outreach, a non-governmental organisation, has donated drugs and other life saving essential medical necessities to flood victims in three local government council areas in Adamawa. The intervention came during the launch and presentation of essential drugs and consumables and WASH items under the project, ‘Provision of lean season essential community health services for prevention and management of disease outbreaks, Sexual Reproductive Health and WASH services in selected communities of Yola South and Madagali LGs”, by LESGO, on Thursday in Yola. The flag-off of the distribution of multi-million naira worth of reproductive health drugs, medical consumables, water sanitation and hygiene kits was witnessed by officials from World Health Organisation, Adamawa State Ministry of Health, Water Resources, UNICEF and representatives traditional institutions and other Civil Society Organisations.

LESGO and Adamawa State Government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which includes support of three health facilities in Madagali and Yola South. According to Programme Manager, LESGO, James Siggi, the project provides support for more than 20 hard-to-reach communities within the two LGs with eight medical outreach teams; enhances the welfare of 21 project staff for effective and efficient activity delivery and support to 63 health workers, 20 hygiene promoters and 20 waste managers across the two LGAs.
