Listen to Story Actor Pavitra Punia is among the 12 fearless and relentless contestants on Warner Bros’ Reality Ranis of the Jungle show. During a candid chat with India Today Digital, the actor opened up about her career choices, revealing her thoughts on taking a break from television, her approach to the evolving landscape of OTT platforms, and her boundaries regarding intimate scenes. Pavitra emphasised her passion for reality shows and expressed excitement about exploring new opportunities in her journey.
On being asked about her absence from television, she said, “I'm not stepping back from television because I don't want to work, I genuinely wanted to take a break. Additionally, the prices I'm quoting are quite high. If something aligns with that, great, but otherwise, I feel this show has run its course.
It’s funny how it came to me—I think I manifested it, and it just fell into my lap.” With many celebrities opting to explore OTT as a new medium, Pavitra revealed how she is uncomfortable with intimate scenes, “As for OTT platforms, I did explore opportunities, but I noticed that a common requirement is to perform intimate scenes, which I'm not comfortable with. It's a personal choice, and I don't want to compromise on that.
It’s often the reason I lose out on offers, even for just one scene. If something comes along where I don’t have to do that, then absolutely, you’ll see me on OTT. As for television, I'm always open to that, and reality shows are.
