In the latest development in the Renukaswamy murder case, actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been granted interim bail by the Karnataka High Court for six weeks. As per Bar and Bench, Single-judge Justice S Vishwajith Shetty allowed the interim bail application filed by Darshan to enable him to undergo a surgery. Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeep has been accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, which is under continuous investigation.

However, the actor had filed a bail plea in the Special Court of Public Representatives and the special court rejected his and Pavithra Gowda's bail pleas. For those who don't know, Darshan, Pavitra Gowda and several other accused were arrested on June 11. Darshan has been in police custody since June 11.

The police have already taken Darshan and other accused to Bengaluru, Mysore, Chitradurga and some other places and arrested them. The police have so far seized about 118 items. Renukaswamy, 33, a fan of the actor, allegedly sent Gowda lewd texts that infuriated Darshan and ultimately resulted in his murder, according to police sources.

On June 9, his body was discovered in Sumanahalli here, next to a stormwater drain and an apartment. Renukaswamy was brought to a shed in R R Nagar here by one of the accused, Raghavendra, who is a member of Darshan's fan club in Chitradurga, under the guise that the actor wanted to meet him. It is said that he was killed and tortured in this shed.

The post-mortem report states that many blunt injuries caused haemorrh.
