Friday, November 29, 2024 The ABTA Board has announced the addition of two new directors to its leadership team. Lady Minette Batters and Chris Wright have been officially integrated into the ABTA Board effective immediately. Lady Batters, previously serving as the President of the National Farmers’ Union, comes equipped with extensive experience in high-level government interactions, having collaborated with four Prime Ministers and six Defra Secretaries of State throughout her term.

Chris Wright, the Group Managing Director of Sunvil, brings over two decades of expertise in strategic management, business development, operations, aviation, retail travel, and industry regulation, highlighting his seasoned background in the travel sector. Their roles were ratified during ABTA’s Annual General Meeting on November 28, an event that also saw Giles Hawke of the Royal Caribbean Group officially elected to the Board earlier in the month. Alistair Rowland ABTA Chairman said: “I am delighted to welcome Lady Minette Batters and Chris Wright to the ABTA Board.

Moving forward their varied and in-depth experience and expertise will prove invaluable as we continue to represent members’ interests with Government and other influential decision makers. “I would also like to thank Derek Jones who is stepping down from the Board, for his service and invaluable input during his time on the Board.” Derek Jones served on the ABTA Board for over six years and remains in his role as Chai.
