One of Gloucestershire’s main roads will be closed all this weekend. The A417 will be closed all weekend northbound between Burford Road Interchange and Quarry Interchange. The closure will come into force at 8pm on Friday, August 30.
The road will remain closed until 6am on Monday, September 2. It is all part of a National Highways scheme to carry out essential maintenance on the A417, as well as the A419. This work is essential to keep the concrete carriageway safe and reliable for drivers, a spokesperson said, with signed diversion routes in place.
A spokesperson added: “We’re carrying out maintenance on the A417 and A419. This work is essential to keep the concrete carriageway safe and reliable for drivers. This work will be carried out in phases during weekends to minimise disruption.
