A Place in the Sun star Jonnie Irwin left his wife close to £1million in his will. The TV presenter, who was 50 at the time of his death in February, became a household name after hosting shows including Escape To The Country and A Place in the Sun. The well-loved TV star was diagnosed with lung cancer four years before he sadly lost his battle with the disease.

He passed his entire £953,000 estate to his wife of seven years Jessica Irwin - with who he shares twins Rafa and Cormac and eldest son Rex. It was reported that his final will was signed in October 2022, with the star leaving everything to his wife. The fan-favourite presenter had £956,967 in assets, which was reduced to £953,425 after deductions, as reported by The Sun.

Jonnie's death was announced on his Instagram page by his family. Along with a picture of him and his wife, the post read: "In Loving Memory. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Jonnie’s passing.

A truly remarkable soul, he fought bravely against cancer with unwavering strength and courage. "Jonnie touched the lives of so many with his kindness, warmth, and infectious spirit. At this time, we kindly ask for the privacy of Jonnie’s family as they navigate through this profound loss.
