If you've had a Saturday dinner at Echoes Restaurant in Katoomba in the last 20 years, it's likely you have heard the eclectic piano playing of talented Faulconbridge musician Annie Burbank. or signup to continue reading Burbank is also celebrating 10 years of entertaining diners at the Hydro Majestic Hotel's Wintergarden in Medlow Bath. Her regular gig at Echoes began in 2004 soon after it was purchased by former owners George Saad and Huong Nguyen.

"George and Huong always had a strong belief in the importance of live music at the restaurant, and through their ongoing commitment to this, I have always had a weekly gig at Echoes," Burbank said. When their business expanded to encompass the Hydro Majestic Hotel, she was able to provide the entertainment from the first weekend after the Wintergarden opened in 2014. "Having regular, dependable work as a musician is absolute gold, and something I have never taken for granted - playing as much as I do has naturally caused me to become a better musician," she added.

Burbank plays at the Wintergarden 12-2pm and at Echoes 7-9pm every Saturday and Sunday. During the week she teaches piano, livestreams on Twitch, and works as a composer and arranger. Burbank will be performing - without all the background restaurant noise - at a recital on Saturday September 28, 2024 from 6-8 pm, at the Good Earth Bookshop in Wentworth Falls, on the beautiful 150-year old, fully restored Broadwood piano.

She will perform well-known songs from the 20th.
