TAAG Angola Airlines recently celebrated a milestone by completing its first commercial flight with the Airbus A220-300, linking Luanda with São Tomé Island, a significant destination within the Lusophone community. Departing from Luanda International Airport, the flight carried a mix of regular passengers and high-ranking executives.

Upon arrival, the passengers were greeted by Angola’s Ambassador to São Tomé and Príncipe, His Excellency Fidelino Peliganga, underscoring the diplomatic significance of this new route. The flight welcomed around 200 passengers on its Luanda–São Tomé–Luanda route, offering them a blend of comfort and eco-friendly travel on the advanced Airbus A220-300. In addition to this international route, the A220-300 also completed a domestic journey the same day, connecting Luanda with Benguela, a prominent Angolan tourist destination, transporting approximately 240 passengers in total.

The aircraft’s versatility is evident, accommodating both local and international demand with efficiency. Configured with a capacity of 137 seats, the A220-300 features 12 seats in business class and 125 in economy, designed to provide a balanced experience for various types of travelers.
