Today, the St. Regis occupies the site of what was once Longboat Key’s iconic Colony Hotel. The 18-acre beachfront property, the largest development on the island in half a century, stands out against the rest of the destination in the best ways possible—with a glassy, sleek architectural profile and swanky amenities such as a Bentley house car.

Indeed, every amenity at the hotel is above and beyond, from the secluded clutch of private pool cabanas with dedicated butlers and various pools (winding river, beach entry main pool, serenity pool and ocean lagoon) to the 20,000 square foot spa with extraordinary offerings such as hydrotherapy pool, snow shower and a rare La Mer partnership. The dining venues are so popular with locals that they have three month waiting lists for tables (some locals go so far as to book a room so they can snag a reservation, as hotel guests get priority seating). The hotel also is the debut of the brand's first-ever Pool Butler and exclusive partnerships with Vilebrequin & La Mer.
