The A Current Affair host posed alongside the celebrated Australian athlete in an Instagram post on Monday. 'Massive congratulations and double-double shakas to you,' Sylvia wrote in the caption, referring to the 'hang loose' hand symbol popular with surfers.

'An incredible performance in Paris. Thanks for the thrills - you made us all so proud,' she added. McKeown won a bronze medal in the individual medley on Saturday, marking her seventh Olympic medal after she set multiple records by defending her Games 200m backstroke crown.

Her victory made her the first Australian to win four individual Olympic gold medals in Paris. McKeown is also the first swimmer to successfully defend the 100m and 200m backstroke titles in Olympic history . She now has five golds in her Olympic career, with a women's 4x100m medley victory at the Tokyo Games three years ago also in her collection.
