A Sussex beach has been dubbed a disgrace by disgruntled visitors. Climping Beach, between Littlehampton and Bognor, has been heavily criticised by beachgoers this year who say the area has been neglected. Since January, a number of negative reviews have been left for the site on TripAdvisor, with one going as far as to say the beach is one of the worst they have ever visited.

One visitor said: "It used to be a nice quiet beach off the beaten track but now that it's been left for the sea to reclaim, it has a number of hazards including rusty metal bars. Very different to a year ago." Another visitor wrote: "We hadn’t visited Climping beach for over a year but decided to stop off at this once lovely dog-friendly beach yesterday.

The flood defences are gone and what bollards have been put in place are being eroded by the sea and having little effect. "The shingle was full of broken bits of rusty sharp metal, wire, netting and glass.

We were constantly collecting rubbish so our dog would avoid it. Too much of a hazard for us so we left. Definitely not a dog-friendly beach any more.

" One man from Haslemere said the site was similar to a warzone. He wrote: "A bomb site. Probably the worst beach I have ever visited.

"Terrible parking, litter everywhere, sea defences have been totally destroyed...

it's an absolute mess and a disgrace." But other visitors prai.
