56 trains cancelled due to water on tracks

Vadodara: Heavy rains severely disrupted railway services in the Western Railway (WR) with 56 trains being cancelled, 43 diverted, and 15 short-terminated on Tuesday. The train movement of the majority of these trains was disrupted due to waterlogging at three locations in the Vadodara railway division. “Due to heavy rains and waterlogging at three locations in the Vadodara railway division – Pilod, Bajwa, and Ranoli, many trains have been cancelled, diverted, and short-terminated,” Vineet Abhishek, chief public relations officer of WR, said.

“Trains coming from Rajasthan and Jammu towards Mumbai are being diverted through Ratlam, Baroda, Godhra, and Surat route,” he said. “Similarly, trains coming from Mumbai towards Gujarat and Rajasthan are either short-terminated or have been diverted through Baroda, Godhra, and Ratlam route,” he said. Many MEMU trains between Baroda, Godhra, Dahod, and Ratlam, among others, were cancelled.
