Vadodara: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited ( NHSRCL ) on Monday said that it has successfully completed the task of launching a 45m span over the Petlad irrigation canal for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. NHSRCL officials said the span launching was completed on Sunday. “The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project crossed over Petlad canal (irrigation canal of Mahisagar river) in Kheda district between Anand and Ahmedabad bullet train stations,” the officials said.

The width of the canal is 40 metres. “To avoid obstruction in the water flow of the canal, a 45m long span consisting of 19 segments was joined to complete the launching over the canal,” the official said. “This 46 km long canal is passing through 193 villages,” the official added.
