The Fiji National University’s (FNU) Nasinu Campus was a buzz last week with over one thousand prospective students flooding in to capitalise on the university’s open day. With 45 schools participating, students made sure they were well-informed about what studies they wish to pursue in the future. With the theme “Dream it, Weave it, Achieve it”, the open day was more than just an event to showcase the university’s programs.
University’s vice-chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba said the open day was an opportunity for people to also explore the possibilities that await them at FNU. “Whether you’re thinking about your next steps in education or just curious, you’ll find loads of inspiration to turn your dreams into reality,” she said. She added that they even accepted applications for Semester 1, 2025 during the open day and that all successful applicants received an instant provision offer letter.
College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (CAFF) Bachelor of Science in Fisheries student, Finau Joy Afeaki Batiweti said she was happy to be part of the open day and to share her knowledge with other students. “When a lot of students hear about Koronivia (CAFF campus) they think about agriculture. When they come down to the open day, they realise that we also have fisheries and forestry at the college,” she said.
