Pune: Three men, who were on the run after robbing imitation jewellery worth Rs 16,700 from a jewellery showroom at Laxmi Chowk in Hinjewadi on Friday morning, were nabbed at Amboli by the Sindhudurga police on Saturday afternoon. The police have recovered two country-made pistols from the trio. The suspects had barged into Shivmudra Jewellers at Laxmi Chowk in Hinjewadi on Friday morning and robbed the jewellery at gunpoint.

They failed to rob more jewellery following the resistance of the owner, Sudhakar Patil. They escaped from the spot in a car. Sub-inspector Tukaram Shelke of Hinjewadi police told TOI, "We were tracking the suspects.

After getting information that they were heading towards Amboli Ghat, we immediately alerted the local police." Assistant sub-inspector Datta Desai of the Sawantwadi police told TOI that the Hinjewadi police alerted the police station about a gang of robbers travelling towards Pune via the Amboli Ghat section.
