Vadodara: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited ( NHSRCL ) on Wednesday announced that the construction of a bridge on the Vatrak river in Kheda district had been completed for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project. The construction of the river bridge was completed on Tuesday. The river bridge is situated between Anand and Ahmedabad bullet train stations.
The construction of another bridge over the Mohar river between the two bullet train stations has already been completed. “This is the tenth of 24 river bridges that have been planned for the bullet train project,” said an NHSRCL official. The Vatrak river originates in the hills of Dungarpur, Rajasthan, and enters Gujarat near Moydi village of Meghraj taluka.
The river is located 25km from the bullet train station in Anand and 30km from the bullet train station in Ahmedabad. The river bridge is 280 metres long and consists of seven full-span girders of 40 metres each, while there are eight circular piers of 3.5m and 4m diameter.
The height of the piers ranges from 9 to 16 metres.
