MTV has unveiled the nominees for the 2024 Video Music Awards . The annual event celebrates the biggest names in music and entertainment . Taylor Swift, who dropped her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, earlier this year, bagged ten nominations.
Her collaborator, Post Malone, earned nine for their joint track, Fortnight. She also scored a second nomination for her MTV rendition of Red Wine Supernova. Sabrina Carpenter secured six nominations and will compete against her pal Taylor for Artist of the Year. The former Disney starlet found herself in the spotlight after opening for the pop icon on the Eras Tour and achieving breakthrough success with her singles Espresso and Please Pease Please.
Beyoncé only received one nomination after transitioning to country with her new album Cowboy Carter. Kendrick Lamar and Drake's rap rivalry resulted in Kendrick receiving one nomination, while Drake snagged two this year. The VMAs will be broadcast live from UBS Arena on Long Island, New York on Sept.
