Listen to Story BMW India today launched the 2024 BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase at a starting price of Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The deliveries of the eighth-generation model will commence from September.

Locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase is available exclusively as a petrol variant. The BMW 5 Series is one of the most critical models for the German luxury carmaker. Globally, it has been the market leader in the prestigious executive sedan segment for years.

Around 10 million units of the car have been sold since the first generation was launched in 1972. Introduced as a Long Wheelbase version for the first time in India, the BMW 5 Series is 5,165mm long, 2,156mm wide and 1,518mm tall with a 3,105mm wheelbase, making it the biggest car in the segment. The BMW 5 Series will take on the popular Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The iconic BMW kidney grille of the 2024 5 Series Long Wheelbase is flanked by adaptive LED headlights having LED DRLs. The rear has slim LED taillights with 'twin light' design. The new Hofmeister kink is shallower and broader with an elegantly embossed '5' badging.

The car drives on 18-inch light alloy wheels or 19-inch M alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
