This year, Patek Philippe celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Twenty-4. The Swiss watch brand’s dedicated collection for women, the Twenty-4 has, in the decades since its launch, become a design classic. “I love the strong Britney 2000s vibes it gives, mixed with a little chic art deco touch,” vintage watch consultant Arthur Pfister says.

“It’s the first exclusive feminine watch collection designed by Patek, which is historically important. To me, it’s classic and elegant.” Its fans include Kylie Jenner , who favours a special Haute Joaillerie model.

In a 2020 Instagram post taken in her Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV, Jenner matched the golden hardware of her Hermès Kelly with a rose-gold Twenty-4 dusted with 3,238 diamonds. The gems are placed in a so-called “snow” setting, a labour-intensive finish that sees artisans place them seemingly at random, like snowflakes settling on the ground. With a rounded case, Jenner’s watch is a second-generation Twenty-4; this version, which boasts automatic movements, was introduced in 2018.

The original 1999 collection of Twenty-4s, on the other hand, featured quartz-powered cuff-style watches, with the dimensions of their rectangular, slightly arched cases calibrated to slot in just-so with link bracelets. “The effect is pure art deco,” Tim Blanks wrote in British Vogue in 2004. To mark a quarter of a century of the Twenty-4 gracing the world’s most fashionable wrists, Patek Philippe unveiled a striking new vers.
