Elayn Hunt Correctional Center prison in St. Gabriel. An officer at a state corrections facility in Iberville Parish has been booked into custody for reportedly having a sexual relationship with an inmate.

Ja'Camry Davis, 22, of Baton Rouge, a Corrections Master Sergeant at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel, is accused of having an unprofessional relationship with an inmate at the facility and smuggling cellphones to another inmate, the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections said in a news release Friday. Davis has worked at the Iberville Parish correctional center since August 2022.

Officials said she resigned from her position as a corrections officer while being questioned by investigators. Davis was booked into Iberville Parish Prison on one count of malfeasance in office, sexual conduct with an inmate and three counts of introduction of contraband into a penal institution, department officials said. Another former correctional employee, Arraneisha Valentine, 22, was arrested on Wednesday, according to Ken Pastorick, spokesperson for the department.

Valentine has not worked for the department since May. Valentine was also booked on a count of malfeasance in office, sexual conduct with an inmate..
