New England boasts two of North America’s best winter train trips , which provide “magical trips through the snow”: Steam and Sleighs to SeaLyon Farm in Maine and The Mount Washington Cog Railway in New Hampshire, according to USA Today . “Winter train travel in North America whisks you along snowcapped mountains, glistening trees, and powdered sugar-dusted valleys,” wrote USA Today .
“The winter scenery is so pleasing that you’ll keep your eyes (and phone) focused on what’s right outside your train window.” The Steam and Sleighs to SeaLyon Farm, which operates for three Saturdays in February, is a steam-powered train ride through Alna, stopping at SeaLyon Farm for a sleigh ride, bonfire, and hot beverages, wrote USA Today . On the Washington Cog Railway, which USA Today calls “a wintertime favorite,” passengers disembark at a scenic warming-up spot at Waumbek Station and enjoy complimentary hot beverages, a fire pit, and panoramic views from New Hampshire’s southern Presidential Range to the Canadian border.
