American ultra-low-cost-carrier, Avelo Airlines , has welcomed it's 20th aircraft to the carriers fleet. N812VL, a 14 year old Boeing 737-800, has had previous tenures with Sun Express Germany , and GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (GOL), before joining the Avelo fleet. A growing US network Avelo continues to grow it's US operations, now with eight operating bases (Burbank, Hartford, Lakeland, New Haven, Orlando, Raleigh/Durham, Santa Rosa, and Wilmington, the carrier services 45 destination with now, 20 Boeing 737 family aircraft.

The carrier has eight Boeing 737-700 , with a seating capacity of 147 passengers, and a further 12 Boeing 737-800 , seating 189 passengers. Two more 737-800 are on order, and expected to join the carrier in 2025. Earlier this year, Avelo publically announced plans to grow it's narrow-body fleet .

Sourcing these aircraft would be from Brazilian airline GOL, Aerolineas Argentinas, and Southwest. With this growth, the airline was able to establish new bases in Hartford, and Lakeland, while commencing 18 new routes, including it's international services to Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. The airline is launching 15 routes in eight weeks.

A fleet with the average age of 16.9 years According to data from ch-Aviation, all of Avelo's aircraft have bee received as second hand. The latest aircraft, N812VL, holds serial number 35836, and recorded it's first flight date on October 30, 2010 after being built at Boeing's Renton factory.
