Many new restaurants, cafés and market stalls have opened in the town. From artisan brassieres to Greek cuisine to Thai, they all offer something different. Here are 10 new eateries that opened in 2024: Meridan Meridan is based at The Parr’s Bank in the town centre.

It offers ‘scrumptious small plates that take influence from international dishes to become a melting pot of flavours’ as well as craft cocktails. Meridian, headed by Jason Carmichael, can be found in the Grade II listed Victorian building, which has been completely renovated and restored over the past four years by Yaad and Pavan Johal. The husband-and-wife team from Appleton, whose backgrounds are in the hotel and fashion industries, converted part of the downstairs floor into a coffee shop - Counters - serving takeaway drinks as well as hot and cold food and turned the banking hall into event space for weddings and corporate events.

They opened ten boutique hotel rooms in August last year with five more opening this year. Juniper Juniper opened earlier this month. It is based on London Road in Stockton Heath.

It describes itself as an artisan brasserie that offers a menu of fine food and beverages. All day breakfast and brunch can be found at Juniper as well lunch, grill options and side plates. For drink options, there are hot drinks, mocktails, smoothies, lemonades, luxury milkshakes and more.
