6: SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Shreveport-Caddo Financial Crimes Task Force is urgently seeking the public’s help to locate two women who are wanted for allegedly defrauding a local church and the Providence House. SPD says Shunya Hines and Takya White are wanted on charges of bank fraud.

Hines is accused of depositing a fraudulent cashier's check for $4,193 on Sept. 17 at a Shreveport financial institution, using the name of the Providence House. Representatives of Providence House confirmed Hines has never been an employee.

An arrest warrant was issued on Oct. 31. Further investigations by Barksdale Federal Credit Union officials and detectives revealed that Hines and White were also involved in an extensive fraud scheme involving Christ Lutheran Church’s business account.

Between September 18-21, White allegedly wrote and negotiated a total of eight fraudulent checks, amounting to $11,911.10, at various Barksdale Federal Credit Union branches in Shreveport. Combined, Hines and White are believed to have exploited Christ Lutheran Church’s account for a total of $13,724.
