Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla , which released in 2019, garnered praises for its gripping direction and star performances apart from being a commercial success. In a recent interview, director Sujoy Ghosh spoke about Amitabh Bachchan’s dedication as he rehearsed multiple times while the entire crew was tired. “Sir has been a significant figure in my life.
In this scene, he was rehearsing for what might have been the 16th or 17th time. Everyone else was exhausted and had dozed off; Taapsee had nearly fainted in a corner. But sir insisted, ‘Let’s do this,’ and kept rehearsing,” Ghosh said while talking to Mashable India.
Sharing the film happened because of Taapsee Pannu, Sujoy added, “The film happened because of Taapsee. She originally brought the script to me, but I initially declined to direct it. Later, Akshai and Sunir approached me with the same project, saying they were making changes.
I agreed to direct it on the condition that I could cast Amit ji and rewrite the script. Once they agreed, I took on the project.” Badla was produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Sunir Khetarpal and Akshai Puri under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment and Azure Entertainment.
It was adapted from the Spanish thriller Contratiempo featuring Mario Casas alongside Bárbara Lennie, José Coronado, and Ana Wagener. In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, when asked about his experience of working with SRK on his directorial Badla , he had something to say. .
