American foodies are "ready to throw hands" after seeing what nachos look like in Scotland. Visitors to the country found themselves less-than-impressed with the selection of nachos on offer, taking to Twitter /X to vent their frustrations. One user's now-viral post said one Scottish venue's take on the classic pub dish was just too simple, featuring nothing but tortilla chips and sour cream.

They wrote: "nachos in scotland are just doritos with sour cream on top and i’m ready to throw hands." Attached was a picture of the Doritos and a dollop of sour cream in the centre. And others were quick to chime in in agreement – and said it wasn't just Scotland where the Tex-Mex favourite was not up to par.

One recalled a trip to London for the 2012 Olympics where the food was not gold standard. They wrote: "When I went to the London Olympics in 2012 and found a nacho stand, they gave us chips with marinara and shredded cheddar on them." Some were so horrified by the nachos they joked the meal shouldn't be allowed.

One joked: "This should violate some sort of international law." Another added: "This is a crime against humanity." A third joked: "You’re lucky its not brown gravy with curry spice.

" Another user suggested that in Scotland visitors should sample some of the local dishes instead. "Better to try native delicacies like the Deep Fried Mars Bar," one wrote. Locals have since claimed the original poster was "conned" by poor-quality sellers and that Scottish nachos are not as bad as they seem.

"Speaking as someone in Scotland, you've been conned," they wrote. "Even a chep pub will have much more loaded nachos. [sic].

" Another wrote: "nachos in scotland aren't just doritos with sour cream on top. that's not true.".
