The Boys - Season 4: Official trailer Eric Kripke, who is the mind behind Amazon Prime ’s The Boys, has teased that the epic superhero parody series will be going out with a bang. Kripke, who is also well-known for creating the CW series Supernatural, has warned fans that “there will probably be lots of death” in The Boys ’ final season. Following the conclusion of season 4, which ended on a very dark note for many of our favourite characters, it seems season 5 will also have plenty of hard-to-watch moments.

Kripke has opened up about the pressure to give fans a good ending, explaining that ending after season 5 was “always my plan”. Speaking to Total Film, he expressed: “There’s no guarantee of who’s gonna survive because we don’t have to keep them for another season, so you can have really shocking, big things happen all the time. And so, as the writers, as we’re starting to cook it up, we’re really enjoying that.

” Speaking about the difficulties of ending the show, he continued: “So many series finales suck, and it’s really hard to land the plane. I am very grateful to Amazon for giving me the opportunity to end it on our own terms, but for sure, I feel lots and lots of pressure to end it well. “Because I think if we can stick the landing, then people will be like, ‘That’s a great show!’ But if we s*** the bed, people will say, ‘Oh, it was a good show, but they s*** the bed.

The popular cult series, which featured Soldier Boy actor Jensen Ackles and other actors from The Boys, ran for an astonishing 15 seasons on the CW. Kripke acknowledged this difference, admitting back in 2020: “I also know better than to say how many seasons a show is gonna have.
