Rajkumar Periasamy’s Amaran is all set to release soon. The movie is inspired by the life of late Major Mukund Varadarajan who was martyred in a counterterrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014. The role of the late soldier will be played by Sivakarthikeyan.
In a recent interview, the director revealed why he decided to cast Sivakarthikeyan for this role. In a conversation with the media, while promoting Amaran in Malaysia, Rajkumar Periasamy talked about why he decided to rope in Sivakarthikeyan to play the lead role. The director revealed that he zeroed in on the actor because of how he has portrayed the common man in his movies so far.
He mentioned that the late soldier was a common man who went on to do extraordinary things in his life. Periasamy added that he went ahead with Sivakarthikeyan as he is still connected to the audience despite his stardom.
