To lose a child is one of the hardest things to go through, so fly high my precious gem, until we meet again love you lots my Pots. — Mom It was a cold blustery day; the blanket tugged on my clothes making it hard to get out of bed.

The room filled with dark clouds. All I could think about was her laugh, her smile, her love. My mom had always been my rock, the one who could brighten even the worst of days with her warmth and kindness.

Yet today, the world felt emptier, colder, and harsher. The wind outside echoed my sorrow, as if the breeze mourned her loss with me. I finally built up the strength to rise, my feet touching the cold floor.

The trees bent under the force of the wind, much like how my heart felt with her absence. Memories of her flooded my mind. Her laugh, which could light up a room, her smile that made everything seem all right, and her love as promising as the rising sun.

She was the one who taught me to find beauty in the simplest of things, to appreciate life even in the most challenging moments. Today, though, I found it hard to see the so-called beauty she always talked about. The house felt empty without her presence.

I walked through the rooms, each one holding bits and pieces of our life together. I closed my eyes and let the memories wash over me. Her gentle touch, her words of wisdom, and the unconditional love she always gave me.

Though she was no longer here in the physical sense, her spirit lived on in the lessons she taught me and the love she unconditionally gave me. In this moment, I realized even though the storm outside raged on, inside, I carried a piece of her warmth and light. Although the days ahead would be difficult, I knew her love would guide me through, just as it always had.

My mother may have passed, but her legacy of love and strength would remain with me forever. — Written by Alyssa R. Conde.
