Manicured gardens border the structure Dior created for the event, and as guests walk through the museum’s entrance, filled with Rodin’s sculptures, they have a glimpse of what is to come: a celebration of the body.
After an archer, dressed in an Amazonian leather skirt, walks the central runway, look after look reveals a monochrome palette of jersey bodysuits, padded motorcycle jackets and softly draped suiting. The only interruption – and one that the audience notices almost too late – is by a protester who storms the runway, brandishing a “F--- Feathers” poster.
