All Creatures Great and Small were introduced to a new character last night that's caused quite the stir in the Yorkshire Dales. Doris, who is part of the Women's Land Army and a friend of Jenny's, has come to Darrowby to lend a hand at the Danby's farm. She's also been helping out at the Alderson's, which is where Helen first encountered the Leeds lass an encounter that left her feeling somewhat distant from her sister.

Jenny, despite Helen's willingness to assist, encouraged her to go back to James following his unexpected return, assuring her that they had enough support with Doris there. "I can manage without you," Jenny told her, leaving Helen feeling like she was being pushed out as she watched her sister form a close bond with Doris, echoing the past. The sense of separation intensified when Jenny tentatively mentioned her intention to move to Leeds, with Doris offering to help her get a job at a department store, according to Radio Times, reports Lancs Live .

Helen, worried about the air raids on Leeds, was against the idea of Jenny taking a retail job. Although Richard thought Jenny was determined, Helen wasn't so sure. The sisters' tension was clear, and it escalated into another fierce argument, this time over a horse, under Doris's uneasy gaze.

But as any fan of All Creatures Great and Small would know, keeping feelings bottled up and holding grudges can lead to trouble it's always best to have those difficult conversations with the people we care about. Following.
