ALL Asda shoppers are being urgently warned over losing £161 on their monthly shop. It means Asda shoppers are forking out over £1,550 every year - but they could be saving cash by switching to Aldi, which is priced at £118.41, or £1416.

An Asda basked came out to £131.42 on average, which is £10 more than Lidl customers and £13 more than Aldi . Over a year of monthly shops, that’s a £161 difference to Aldi, with shoppers and customers warned over losing out on cash saved.

" The f ull list of Which? prices for June 2024 for a basket of 65 items includes: Aldi: £118.41, Lidl: £121.31, Tesco (Clubcard): £130.

90 and Asda : £131.42 as well as Sainsbury's (with Nectar card): £132.90, Tesco (without Clubcard): £134.

30, Sainsbury's (without Nectar card): £137.51. Other prices are Morrisons : £140.

19, Ocado: £144.06 and Waitrose: £151.01.

The investigation by Which? looked into the total cost of 134 items. The bigger selection included more branded items like Bird’s Eye frozen garden peas and McVitie's biscuits. Aldi has held the cheapest supermarket for every month since January 2020 – except for July 2023, when it was beaten by Aldi took the title of cheapest supermarket in 2023 after winning cheapest supermarket of the month for 11 out of 12 months last year.

The budget retailer also took the crown in 2021 and 2022..
