Alia Bhatt is on a roll. She will soon be seen in Jigra, co-starring Vedang Raina and is also shooting for Alpha with Sharvari Wagh and Bobby Deol. Soon, the actress will also begin shooting for Love And War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

Now, reports claim that after delving into action and drama, Alia wants to do an out-and-out love story next. “Alia has identified a script for her next after Love And War, and she is looking to produce and act in the film. It’s an out-and-out love story, and Alia’s heart at the moment is on the aforementioned script,” a source close to the development told Pinkvilla.

The source mentioned that the film will go on floors in the last quarter of 2025 after the shoot for Love And War is over. “There have been multiple rounds of meetings and the conversations are in the right direction. The film is still a year away from going on floors, and hence, there is also a chance for Alia to change her mind if something better comes up.

But given how things are at the moment, the love story in question is locked as Alia’s next for 2026,” the source added. The source mentioned that a top actor will be cast alongside Alia and added, “The entire casting begins once the paperwork is done and the stakeholders are committed to take the film on floors by 2025 end.” Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is currently promoting Jigra.

Last year, Alia Bhatt talked about Jigra and opened up about its plot. She had revealed that the film is a story of ‘courage, passion and determination’. “Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion and determination.

I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic, and enduringly timeless and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them alive,” Alia added. It was also recently revealed that the actress had to learn basketball for the film. As reported by E-Times, Alia Bhatt has several scenes in Jigra in which she will be seen playing basketball and therefore, to make it look authentic, director Vasan Bala assigned a coach to her.

It should also be noted that Alia Bhatt is not just playing the lead in Jigra but is also co-producing it with Karan Johar..
