Alex Jones spoke candidly with Rylan Clark about her career as a presenter and the pitfalls that can come being in the television industry. The One Show host, 47, recalled a disastrous moment when she fronted the Welsh dating show, La Bamba. The series launched in the early days of her presenting career which saw young contestants playing games in the sunshine and going on dates, with the winning couple securing a trip to an exotic location.

Alex admitted she was swiftly "fired" from her role when she returned home to Wales. Speaking on Air Rylan, she commented, "I used to host a dating show on a beach and the winning couple won a trip to Cancun. I said to my friend, who was a contestant, 'try and win and then I'll see if they will let me come to film you and the bloke.



' Rylan interjected: "What was it called?" "La Bamba!" Alex confirmed. "So my friend Kat won, I'm hosting the show, and she was going to go to Cancun with Stuart, this bloke." She continued: "The three of us went to Cancun but we didn't see Stuart.

So me and Kat got a brilliant holiday." However, disaster struck as Alex recalled, "I forgot to film anything." "I was fired from that job when I got back," she mused.

Despite her work fail, Alex has gone onto have a successful career in television, having presented The One Show since 2010. She has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing (2011), hosted Tumble (2014), her own documentary Fertility and Me (2016) and Shop Well For Less frpm 2016 until 2018. The full inte.
