Aldi shoppers have been speaking out following a Panorama programme looking at price match products at other supermarkets. The show aired on Monday evening and found that many of the Tesco products in its Aldi Price Match scheme are not like-for-like. As well as looking at how the design of packaging used by various supermarkets suggests that products are much bigger than they are, it found that of 122 Tesco products, nearly a third had at least five percentage points less of the main ingredient than the Aldi products they had been matched to.

Read more: 'I did a big shop at the supermarket that's been cheaper than Lidl and Aldi for essentials' A big focus of the show was on chicken nuggets, with Tesco's Hearty Food Co product containing just 39% of chicken, compared to 60% in Aldi's Roosters nuggets. Only a dozen Tesco products were found to have more of the main ingredient. Aldi made a point of sharing the findings on its social media pages, urging people to: "Watch this while having your tea tonight.

"It's simple just shop at Aldi." "I've said this for years, yes you can shop as cheaply in the big supermarkets but the quality is far superior in Aldi!!" said another. And a third added: "I have to agree because the quality of the Tesco products cann.
