Alberta Ferretti has today announced that she will be stepping down from her role of creative director at her namesake label. The designer – who founded the brand in 1980 – will stay on as vice president of the parent company Aeffe Spa (which also owns Moschino and Philosophy Di Lorenzo), but will be appointing a new designer to take creative control of the collections. "It was the year 1981 when a young woman with many dreams and passions brought her collection to the catwalk for the first time," Ferretti wrote in a statement to press.
