Wednesday, August 14, 2024 Alaska Airlines is enhancing its First Class culinary offerings through a new partnership with celebrated chef Brandon Jew. This month marks the debut of a unique dining option for First Class passengers traveling between San Francisco International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Chef Jew, the esteemed owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant Mister Jiu’s in San Francisco, will introduce a bespoke menu featuring his renowned culinary creations. From August 14, travelers in First Class can pre-order from a menu that showcases Chef Jew’s distinctive dishes. Highlights include his innovative version of congee, a beloved Chinese breakfast dish, alongside expertly prepared black cod accompanied by smooth silken tofu, and a delicately braised duck paired with aromatic sesame egg noodles.

The ingredients, such as the high-quality poultry sourced from Liberty Farms in Sonoma County—also used in Mister Jiu’s signature Peking Style Whole Roast Duck—mirror those found in top Michelin-rated establishments globally. Chef Jew’s meticulous approach combines fresh, local ingredients from the San Francisco Bay Area with traditional Chinese culinary methods, crafting dishes that resonate with both familiarity and innovation. This initiative is part of Alaska Airlines’ ongoing efforts to elevate its premium dining services, building on successful collaborations with iconic West Coast brands like Salt & Straw, Ellenos, Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, and Stumptown Coffee Roasters.

This enhances the culinary experience by offering passengers a taste of the region’s best products and flavors..
