Alan Titchmarsh has admitted the "stresses and strains" of life have a big effect on him. The Love Your Weekend presenter appeared on This Morning today where he chatted with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about the new series of his show, which kicks off this weekend. In a rare personal update, Alan opened up about his own life and the pressures of social media.

He described his show as a "real luxury" before admitting he avoids social media mostly to stop worrying about what people might say about him. And like everyone else, stresses and strains come from own family and friends, I worry about them; I try not to worry about what people say about me because what's the point.

" Alan later revealed he wasn't actually interested in becoming a TV presenter, but loves to share his passion. "I started life as an apprentice gardener at 15 and I've always been interested in sharing a passion. I've always liked words.

I enjoy people's company, whoever they are - if they've got conversation - and I'm not wild about Hollywood stars who tend to be quite difficult. I'd much rather .
