AN AIRPORT in the UK has launched new winter flights for Brits hoping to escape for a holiday later in the year. In a first of its kind offer since 2020, tour operator TUI will see jetsetters travel between Cardiff and a French Alpine town every Saturday. 2 Those hoping to escape to the mountains for Christmas are in luck with the first flight planned to leave just days before the internationally recognised holiday Credit: Alamy 2 Some could choose use the new flights as part of their journey to French Alps using the new flights planned Credit: AFP Those hoping to make Christmas plans to Chambéry, a charming French town, will be able to make use of the launch as the flights will start later this year.
From 21 December passengers will have access to the first ski route directly available from Cardiff since winter 2019/20. Some of the best ski resorts in the world including Val d'Isère and La Plagne can be found nearby. Whilst Chambéry itself has been described as a quaint region - rich with history and culture due to its medieval old town and variety of museums.

Now the airline could be set to launch more new routes from the regional travel hub, according to its managing director.
