Tuesday, September 10, 2024 At the start of the new school year, the airport company again distributed high-visibility vests to the primary schools in the area surrounding BER. As part of the annual campaign to mark the start of school, schools in the airport region once again had the opportunity to equip their new first-year classes with high-visibility vests from the airport company free of charge. Due to the positive response in recent years, more and more schools are becoming aware of the campaign.

This year, a total of 3,240 high-visibility vests were distributed to 38 primary schools in Berlin and Brandenburg in the area surrounding BER. One of the schools that was pleased to be equipped with safety vests this year is the school at the Altglienicke water tower. There, Christian Franzke, the airport company’s representative for the surrounding area, personally handed over the bright yellow vests to headmaster Marcel Mager and the children in the first grades on September 6, 2024.

We wish all children a good start to their school years and always a safe journey to school. “High-visibility clothing is part of the day-to-day work of airport operations and is essential for the safety of employees. With our high-visibility vests for school enrollment, we want to help ensure that new schoolchildren in our neighboring communities are clearly visible in traffic and can get to school safely.

” “The BER’s safety vests contribute to the safety of our youngest schoolchildren, which is a really great thing. I am delighted that this time we can equip all 102 first-graders that we are welcoming this school year with a vest. Many thanks to the BER’s work in the surrounding area!”.
