Airbus has announced the name of the person selected to lead its new regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Eid Al Qahtani has been chosen for the job as he brings decades of leadership experience, including one that involved Airbus Helicopters. Airbus’ new regional headquarters in Riyadh Airbus recently opened its new regional headquarters in Riyadh and has now announced the appointment of Eid Al Qahtani as Airbus President for the location.
Al Qahtani has over 20 years of experience in leadership and has also worked as Head of Operations for Airbus Helicopters in Riyadh. The plane manufacturer is hopeful that his immense experience will help with business growth in the region. Al Qahtani commented, “I am honored to be leading Airbus from our new Riyadh Headquarters and look forward to further consolidating Airbus’ presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is a most strategic market for us.
Our aim is to continue supporting Saudi Arabia’s long-term goals, whilst inspiring the next generation of Saudi leaders in the aerospace sector.” Currently, Airbus employs more than 350 people in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Of these, 30% are Saudi nationals and the rest are of over 30 nationalities.
Long-term vision for the region Saudi Arabia is investing in its larger 2030 vision by which it wants to have significantly larger air connectivity covering more than 250 destinations. The country will soon start a new airline called Riyadh Air, and to boost its aviatio.
