Tuesday, August 13, 2024 AirAsia is expanding its operations in India by adding a new flight route from Malaysia to Port Blair in the Andaman Islands, starting on November 16, 2024. This service will be the airline’s shortest to India and marks AirAsia as the only airline from ASEAN offering international flights to Port Blair. The airline will operate three weekly flights to this destination, bringing its total to 17 Indian cities with 91 weekly flights.
This year alone, AirAsia has introduced eight new routes within India, including to cities like Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, and Kozhikode. Port Blair, a jewel among the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal, has been a coveted destination for those eager to explore its untouched beaches and rich marine life. It’s a favorite escape for Indian tourists and will now welcome visitors from Malaysia and further afield, thanks to AirAsia’s direct connections.
Attractions in Port Blair range from historical sites to water sports like kayaking through its transparent waters. The islands are also known for their ancient tribal communities, protected under Indian law. In celebration of this new route, AirAsia is launching a special promotion with one-way fares from Kuala Lumpur to Port Blair starting at RM199.
These promotional prices are available through the AirAsia MOVE app (previously known as airasia Superapp) or on airasia.com until August 19, 2024, for travel from the launch date until October 25, 2025. Additionally, M.
