Thursday, August 15, 2024 AirAsia is expanding its network with the introduction of a new flight route to Port Blair in the Andaman Islands, marking a milestone as the only Asean airline to provide international flights to this destination. Starting 16 November 2024, AirAsia will operate three weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur to Port Blair, enhancing its role as a key player in affordable regional travel. This new connection not only shortens the travel distance to India’s nearest island destination but also increases the number of Indian cities accessible to Singaporean travelers via Kuala Lumpur to seventeen, including Chennai, Jaipur, and New Delhi.

Port Blair, nestled in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal, has always been a coveted destination for those eager to explore its untouched beaches and vibrant marine life. Now, with AirAsia’s competitively priced routes, more travelers from Singapore can easily reach this exotic locale. Visitors can look forward to a range of activities, from historical tours to water sports like kayaking in the island’s clear waters.

The Andaman archipelago is also known for its indigenous tribes, protected for generations under Indian law. In celebration of this new route, AirAsia is offering promotional fares starting at SGD 330 for a one-way trip from Singapore to Port Blair, including a quick layover in Kuala Lumpur. These promotional rates are available through the AirAsia MOVE app or the airasia.
