Pune: Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh , the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), will be the reviewing officer for the passing out parade (POP) of the 147th course at National Defence Academy (NDA) scheduled on Nov 30, a statement issued by defence PRO, Southern Command, on Thursday said. The parade marks the culmination of three years of rigorous military training for NDA cadets. The Air Chief, who is an alumnus of the academy, will inspect the cadets assembled on Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetrapal Parade Ground, following an impeccable display by passing out and fourth-term cadets.
After the parade, the CAS will present awards to medal-winning cadets and address cadets. Additionally, he will interact with the parents of medal winners and passing out cadets after the event. The NDA will also hold a convocation for the course on Nov 29, with professor Alok Kumar Rai, vice-chancellor, Lucknow University, as the chief guest.
The academy conducts two passing out parades each year —in autumn and summer — with different dress uniforms for cadets during each period. Upon graduating from NDA, cadets proceed to their respective armed forces academies for further advanced military training before being commissioned into their respective forces..
