Saturday, November 9, 2024 Air Canada’s headquarters buzzed with excitement yesterday as young women gathered at our Montreal base to delve into the world of global aviation. Held annually in the autumn, this open house invites female students and young women aged 15 and up to meet with our professionals and explore dynamic, multi-disciplinary career paths in aviation. Throughout the day, participants discovered the diverse career opportunities available at Air Canada, meeting inspiring female leaders across fields like finance, aviation supply chain management, maintenance planning, business transformation, IT, law, strategic procurement, cargo operations, and branding.

Their exploration continued with a guided tour of our Montreal office museum, showcasing over 85 years of Air Canada’s history, followed by a hangar visit where they got a close-up view of an aircraft. “We are all passionate about what we do here at Air Canada. It is this passion that we want to share with young women who might not immediately think about aviation as a career path,” says Capucine Michaud, Director Cabin Standards and Maintenance Program, who puts together this event every year, along with colleagues from many other departments.

“When you think about the aviation industry, your mind obviously goes to pilots and flight attendants, but we have all sorts of different fields here! The airline industry is mostly perceived as male dominated and our hope is that female students leave today .
